Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation.Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a rigorous commitment to infection control, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes with a professional demeanor.
  • Provide quality customer service to all customers, including co-workers.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, to prevent injury to self, patients, visitors or other hospital personnel.
  • Contribute to maintaining supplies and sterile items for use throughout the hospital. Keeps department clean, neat, and well organized.
  • Performs cleaning and decontamination duties. Works quickly yet safely and thoroughly addresses all instrumentation taking into account any unique cleaning demands.
  • Performs wrapping and packaging duties. Prioritizes work; focuses on consistent throughput; accountable for knowledge and expertise with respect to all instruments.
  • Performs sterilization and all monitoring activities associated with it. Knowledgeable with respect to biological monitoring; organized and efficient.

Job Requirements

Required
  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, within 12 - months or
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, within 12 - months or
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 12 - months or
  • Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, within 12 - months
