Accountabilities:
- Manage the complete mortgage loan origination process, including interviewing applicants, collecting applications, reviewing borrower information, and submitting loan packages for processing and underwriting.
- Conduct detailed customer consultations to understand financial circumstances, homeownership objectives, borrowing needs, income, assets, liabilities, and credit profiles.
- Recommend appropriate mortgage products and lending strategies while guiding customers through application, approval, and closing processes.
- Maintain and manage an active mortgage pipeline by tracking opportunities, collecting documentation, monitoring loan progress, and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Build and strengthen relationships with referral partners, including real estate professionals, builders, attorneys, financial advisors, and community organizations.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to generate new opportunities, increase mortgage production, and expand market presence.
- Represent the organization through networking, community involvement, customer meetings, and outreach activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide a seamless customer experience and identify opportunities for additional financial solutions.
- Maintain accurate loan records, documentation, and customer communications while ensuring compliance with lending requirements.
- Apply sound judgment when using technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making while following approved policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of residential mortgage loan origination experience, including managing pipelines, developing referral relationships, and generating new business.
- Active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS), or ability to obtain and maintain required registration.
- Strong understanding of residential mortgage products, pricing, underwriting guidelines, and lending processes from application through closing.
- Experience analyzing borrower financial information, credit history, income documentation, and assets to identify suitable lending solutions.
- Knowledge of applicable mortgage regulations, including TILA, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, and Fair Lending requirements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated success in sales, networking, prospecting, and developing referral partnerships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain a high-volume pipeline, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using mortgage loan origination systems and related lending technologies; familiarity with MortgageBot or similar platforms is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, workflows, and technology enhancements.
- Professional judgment and attention to detail when handling sensitive financial information and regulatory requirements.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, with approximately 80% of work time dedicated to customer meetings, networking, referral development, and community activities.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $22,000 to $28,000 per year, with additional compensation opportunities available.
