One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Family Birth Center (FBC) Registered Nurse (RN) at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care so you can significantly impact our patients' well-being and recovery. Our Family Birth Center operates as the Level 3 High Risk Facility for the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. It is comprehensively equipped with 28 beds, including 12 labor beds, 2 Operating Rooms, a 2-patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14-bed private Mother-Baby unit. We are proud to be Joint Commission Certified for Perinatal Care and committed to the 10 steps for successful breastfeeding. As a high-risk facility, we frequently receive antepartum patient transfers from across Northern California. We average 150 deliveries monthly, supported by a robust team including Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Specialist, a Perinatal Certified Nurse Specialist, an in-house OB hospitalist, and a designated OB anesthesiologist. Furthermore, our Level III NICU is conveniently adjoined to our FBC, providing essential support.  Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans for our diverse patient population. You will be expected to collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes, particularly in our high-risk setting.
