Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Certified Occupational Assistant (COTA), you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement customized treatment plans for patients.

 

Every day, you will help individuals rehabilitate, develop, or maintain the daily living and work skills necessary for independent functionality.

 

To be successful, you will administer evidence based-based theraeutic activities and exercises ourlined in the supervising OT's established evaluation and plan of care.

 

  • May supervise or be responsible for a particular program such as inservice coordinator.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians, hospital departments and the general public.
  • Exceeds performance standards in working knowledge of standard occupational therapy practices, procedures and equipment utilized in the department.
  • Self motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, within scope of practice, and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently while assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a CA Occupational Therapy Assistant License
  • Current CPR.
  • Minimum of two to three years of progressive experience with the development of expertise in a given area of therapy.
