Accountabilities:
- Support the technical accounting function by researching U.S. GAAP guidance, analyzing emerging transactions, and drafting technical accounting memos for complex or non-routine matters.
- Lead revenue recognition activities under ASC 606, including contract review, identification of performance obligations, allocation of transaction price, and revenue timing assessments.
- Evaluate and support the implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring proper policy updates, transition analyses, and alignment with evolving business needs.
- Contribute to SEC reporting deliverables, including footnote disclosures, earnings materials, tie-outs, and audit-ready supporting documentation for 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings.
- Support SOX compliance efforts by documenting and executing internal controls over financial reporting for technical accounting areas such as revenue and equity.
- Collaborate closely with external auditors and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely resolution of audit requests, and strong compliance with public company requirements.
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 public accounting and industry experience in a public company environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise in U.S. GAAP with demonstrated experience applying ASC 606 to customer contracts, including complex or multi-element arrangements.
- Exposure to technical accounting research, with the ability to analyze new accounting issues, document conclusions, and support policy development.
- Familiarity with SEC reporting processes and SOX internal controls, including documentation standards and audit coordination.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills, with experience working in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
