Fraud Strategy and Analytics Senior Associate

As part of the Fraud Strategy and Analytics team at JPMorganChase within the International Consumer Bank, you will join a flat-structure organization. You will help the firm grow responsibly by anticipating new and emerging risks and using your expert judgment to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers, and communities. The Fraud & Financial Crime Product function leads the first line of defense for fraud and financial crime risk, including ownership of the fraud and financial crime strategy and control framework across all products and channels. You will be responsible for designing and validating fraud strategies, capabilities, and processes, partnering closely with Product, Technology, and Operations. This role requires a deep understanding of the business, strong data analysis skills to identify root causes, and the use of analytics to design and implement solutions. You will play a pivotal role in driving end-to-end solutions that mitigate risk while balancing revenue loss, operating costs, and customer impact.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance fraud strategy to drive the intended trade-off between fraud mitigation, financial performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop looker dashboards to monitor fraud trends and loss monitoring.
  • Develop data pipelines that can be consumed for fraud strategy and analytics.
  • Regularly monitor fraud trends and customer friction to identify opportunities to improve fraud strategy performance.
  • Leverage internal and external data sources and advanced analytical tools to drive accurate fraud detection.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Operations to develop new capabilities for improved detection and treatment by helping design solutions, define requirements, and test before and after implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader fraud strategy team and other cross-functional teams to leverage best practices and ensure control and compliance.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and adopt industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with second line fraud risk teams to ensure models, rulesets, and strategies are effective.
  • Deliver concise and effective oral and written communications with internal and external partners at different levels.
  • Ensure all compliance, audit, and control frameworks are followed, using data to confirm processes adhere to regulatory standards.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MS degree with 3+ years (or BS degree with 4+ years) of experience in risk management/data analytics.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to think strategically by setting a vision for areas of responsibility, developing roadmaps, and driving execution to balance short-term and long-term solutions.
  • Strong analytical thought leadership, with the ability to leverage AI and machine learning to drive effective and innovative solutions.
  • Strong process and project management skills, with the ability to drive capability development.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and strategically to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and strong attention to detail to drive analytical rigor and execution quality.

 
Preffered qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Relevant fraud experience preferred.
  • Product management experience is a plus.

 

Technical Skills: Python, SQL, Github, Looker, Excel
