Accountabilities:
- Lead sourcing strategies and procurement optimization initiatives across multiple categories, including technology, professional services, logistics, facilities, travel, equipment, and operational supplies.
- Manage a large direct and indirect spend portfolio while identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and value creation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand organizational needs and align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Develop and execute category management strategies while supporting the growth and capability development of procurement specialists.
- Participate in procurement leadership initiatives and drive the implementation of strategic sourcing programs and best practices.
- Identify and lead initiatives that enhance procurement maturity, vendor management capabilities, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
- Develop reporting structures, communication frameworks, and knowledge management practices to improve procurement visibility and decision-making.
- Establish supplier performance management programs, ensuring effective contracts, service-level agreements, risk controls, and compliance monitoring.
- Lead supplier rationalization efforts and optimize the regional supplier base to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
- Provide leadership across cross-functional teams to continuously improve total cost of ownership for goods and services.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, systems, controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and motivate procurement teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement management, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership roles.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation is an asset.
- Advanced understanding of procurement processes, category management, supplier negotiations, and vendor relationship management.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex business and regulatory information.
- Experience using procurement technology platforms such as GEP eSourcing tools and enterprise resource planning systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procurement policies, systems, processes, and controls within complex organizations.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive collaboration across multiple business functions.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, build trust, and deliver results.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
- Competitive annual salary range of CAD $130,000 – $140,000.
