Cloud Platform Engineer – Presto SaaS (BYOC Platforms)

**Introduction** Successfully deliver automated, repeatable deployment blueprints for cloud SaaS customer environments. Maintain a reliable Kubernetes/OpenShift runtime environment with robust observability and alerting. Contribute directly to lowering customer onboarding times through automation and scripting. Document architecture standards and operations best practices within the team's internal knowledge base. **Your role and responsibilities** We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to help design, deliver, and maintain our Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) platform for Presto SaaS across major public cloud providers (Azure and AWS, with IBM Cloud being a strong plus). This role will focus on building secure, scalable, and production-grade deployments for enterprise customers running Presto workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift utilizing modern automation and CI/CD patterns. Key Responsibilities ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Collaborate on the architecture and drive the practical implementation of Presto SaaS BYOC deployments on Azure and AWS. Build, operate, and maintain multi-cloud Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms ensuring reliability, scale, and cost-efficiency. Implement and standardize repeatable deployment workflows and pipelines using modern CI/CD patterns and tools. Develop cloud platform services, infrastructure automation scripts, and operators using Python, Shell, or Go. Create robust infrastructure provisioning and operational tooling using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Implement platform security, networking, IAM policies, and logging/observability features. Troubleshoot infrastructure, multi-cloud connectivity, and platform-level issues in staging and production environments. Create thorough engineering documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks to share knowledge across the team. **Required technical and professional expertise** Required Qualifications 4-6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud platform engineering or devops/site-reliability * Solid production experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure). * Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes; practical experience deploying containerized * workloads in enterprise environments (OpenShift experience is a strong plus). * Strong coding and automation skills using Python, Bash/Shell scripting, and standard IaC● * frameworks (such as Terraform). * Good understanding of cloud-native foundations: networking, IAM, storage, container * security, and observability. * Familiarity with building and maintaining repeatable deployment pipelines (such as * Jenkins or GitOps principles). * Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-cluster or cloud environments. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Experience with IBM Cloud and Fyre cluster environments (highly preferred). * Prior experience working on data platform infrastructure (Hadoop, Spark, or * relational/distributed databases). * Familiarity with deployment tools like Argo CD or Flux CD. * Basic working knowledge of open-source Presto architecture and operations.
