This position is located in the Office of the Chief of Protocol (S/CPR). S/CPR extends the first hand that welcomes Chiefs of State and Heads of Government, and other leaders to the United States. This position oversees a wide range of activities critical to U .S. foreign relations. The incumbent has primary responsibility for comprehensive planning, coordination, and seamless execution of complex protocol arrangements for official visits, ceremonial functions, and major diplomatic events. Oversees visit logistics including transportation coordination, motorcade movements, equipment and supply movement, and operational support across multiple event sites. Serves as the technical expert for operational logistics and airport protocol, coordinating Airport Escort Screening Courtesies (AESC), Port Courtesies (PC), and customs and immigration courtesies for qualifying foreign officials. Plans, coordinates, and executes comprehensive protocol arrangements for official visits, ceremonies, and major diplomatic events involving the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State, developing supporting materials. Serves as the technical expert on ceremonial procedures, military honors, and flag protocols, overseeing credentials presentations, wreath laying, and arrival and departure ceremonies. Serves as the Office technical expert and primary manager for all official gift exchanges associated with visits, meetings, ceremonial events, and major diplomatic gatherings.
