Overview

Unison Software Solutions, a leading provider of procurement and grants management solutions to the federal marketplace, is seeking an experienced Mid to Senior Functional Consultant to support a Federal customer in optimizing the use of Unison's Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) acquisition platform.

 

This position will serve as part of a dedicated hybrid support team providing operational, functional, and advisory support to a Federal acquisition organization. The consultant will work closely with Government stakeholders to accelerate user adoption, optimize business processes, configure system capabilities, deploy new functionality, and improve day-to-day acquisition operations.

 

Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience supporting Unison's PRISM acquisition platform. Candidates with significant experience supporting other Federal acquisition systems and a strong understanding of the Federal acquisition lifecycle are also encouraged to apply.

 

Unison consultants partner directly with clients to understand business objectives, optimize acquisition processes, and deliver exceptional consulting services that help Federal agencies maximize the value of Unison's software solutions.

Responsibilities

The Functional Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor supporting the successful operation and continuous improvement of the client's acquisition management environment. This role combines functional consulting, business process improvement, operational support, user engagement, and solution optimization.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as the primary functional point of contact supporting day-to-day operations of the client's acquisition management system
  • Provide functional support, issue triage, and problem resolution for Government users
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend system configuration and workflow improvements that align with Federal acquisition best practices
  • Configure and maintain application settings to support evolving business needs
  • Support the deployment and adoption of new application capabilities and enhancements
  • Partner with Government stakeholders to improve acquisition workflows, operational efficiency, and user experience
  • Develop business process recommendations that align technology capabilities with mission objectives
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, business process analysis, configuration validation, testing, and user acceptance activities
  • Develop and deliver end-user training, job aids, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Create reports, dashboards, and operational metrics to support leadership decision-making
  • Analyze system usage, support trends, and operational performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Technical Consultants, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality client support
  • Prepare status reports, documentation, and executive briefings for client leadership
  • Build trusted relationships with Government stakeholders while representing Unison with professionalism and integrity

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of professional consulting or functional support experience supporting enterprise software applications
  • Strong knowledge of Federal acquisition, procurement, and contracting business processes
  • Experience providing functional consulting, software support, system configuration, and end-user training
  • Experience conducting business process analysis and translating business requirements into functional solutions
  • Experience supporting software implementations or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environments
  • Experience working directly with Government stakeholders in a client-facing consulting role

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience implementing or supporting Unison's PRISM acquisition platform strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting Federal acquisition systems, procurement systems, or grants management applications
  • Experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) acquisition software implementations
  • Experience supporting application configuration and workflow optimization
  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics
  • Experience supporting organizational change management and user adoption initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and acquisition lifecycle
  • Experience supporting Federal civilian agencies

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office applications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Business, Public Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
