AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

This position is part of the War Media Activity. The incumbent serves as technical director for both studio and remote location television productions. As a AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST at the GS-1071-11 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as technical director, floor manager, primary videographer, audio technician for both broadcast studios and live locations for television production. Operates with expertise video cameras, editing equipment, including recorders, switchers, broadcast routers, computer software editors, character generators, audio mixers, microphones, and graphics generators to produce preliminary and final video products. Operates primary media acquisition equipment during a variety of live events including, interviews, news conferences and B-roll recording. Provides expert advice to producers/directors on aesthetic looks and environmental concerns to enhance production value and communicate the intended outcomes. Serves as audio/visual equipment custodian. Maintains inventory of available equipment for rental, including spare parts and disposables. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of network level standards/practices, distribution practices, and related TV broadcast technologies while working in the Broadcast Operations Recording facility. Uses digital asset management systems/software to record issuing, turn in, and repair actions on media production gear inventory.
