Training Instructor

This Training Instructor position is in Environmental Management services at the VA Medical Center, located at the W.G. Hefner VAMC in Salisbury NC. The incumbent serves as a Training Instructor providing on-going training service and instruction for EMS's Training Program. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Collaborates with EMS managers to develop a waste management automated tracking system to record performance inspections. Ensures data entry requirements are reflected using "competency question and answers" for portion of each inspection and reviews conducted by service supervisors. - Makes necessary modifications to training courses and recommends modifications for well-established programs. Obtains and adapts as needed, instructional materials as needed. - Evaluates training courses for EMS's training programs and works closely with senior specialists to evaluate courses to enhance EMS's overall training program. - Conducts and evaluates the employee training needs assessments to provide guidance to management on establishing appropriate resources to meet both regulatory and employee training and development needs. - Coordinates EMS training activities related to assignments and projects to develop and implement training courses or course materials. - Maintains liaison with training program instructors and training specialists to obtain information for projects and activities. - Collaborates in healthcare committees and professional studies to advance hospital and VISN strategic plan initiatives. - Develops partnerships with stakeholders and community partners to increase program effectiveness and availability. - Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs and consistently revises and updates content, instructional materials, and delivery methods to enhance learning. - Validates overall training effectiveness and quality assurance. - Completes Environmental Management quality assurance studies to monitor employee competency and monitors completed and deficient training and educational comprehension reviews. - Provides instruction covering a wide variety of topics in well-established areas of hospital housekeeping and other EMS-related subject matter fields. - Makes necessary modifications to training courses for well-established programs. Obtains and adapts as needed, instructional materials as needed. - Other duties as assigned.
