Description
As a Programmer, you play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring parts move seamlessly through our laser cutting process. You will ensure machines are supplied with adequate workloads and that programs are properly nested to prevent tip-ups and head collisions. You will optimize nests to avoid slowdowns and maximize machine runtime, maintain high beam time, and equip lasers for continuous 24/7 operation.Why SendCutSend?SendCutSend is an on-demand manufacturing company specializing in custom sheet metal and CNC machining. If you’re excited to join the team and grow with us, we want to hear from you!What you’ll doCreate and maintain laser programs that support daily production needsProvide operators with the necessary workload to effectively plan and strategize upcoming nestsBuild and optimize nests to support efficient cutting, material usage, and proper tab placement to prevent parts from flipping during productionPre-measure and strategically utilize remnants to reduce material waste and minimize operator reworkCommunicate with operators to address programs that require additional informationAssist the laser team with denesting or other tasks when all machines are running at full capacityPerform other related duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsExperience in laser cutting, CNC, or similar manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with programmable production equipmentBasic understanding of material properties (metals, plastics, composites)Working knowledge of nesting strategies, tab placement, and material optimizationAbility to communicate effectively with machine operators and production partnersStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced production settingPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience creating programs and optimizing nests for laser cutting, CNC machining, or other automated manufacturing equipmentExperience planning, prioritizing, or supporting production workloadsStrong understanding of material utilization and waste reduction practicesExposure to a continuous improvement or efficiency focused manufacturing environmentEssential Physical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods throughout the shiftProlonged use of a computer, keyboard, and input devicesAbility to occasionally walk the production floor to coordinate with the laser teamAbility to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to bend, reach, and move safely around industrial equipment as neededWork EnvironmentPrimarily desk-based role located on the production floorWork performed on a computer using manufacturing and production software around CNC lasers, press brakes, and material handling equipmentExposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materialsFrequent collaboration with production staff and leadershipUse of required protective equipment at all timesBenefitsMedical, Dental, & Vision coveragePaid holidays + PTO401K with company matchTuition reimbursementPaid parental leaveShort-term disabilityLunch provided dailyEmployee discount on partsScheduleFriday - Sunday, 5:00AM - 5:00PM
