In this position...

  • The Ford North America Vehicle Type Approval Engineer is responsible for ensuring that vehicle programs meet and document compliance to the regulatory standards of global markets in which a vehicle line is sold. 

  • This involves planning and coordinating the actions necessary to complete type approval and homologation for a variety of export markets.

  • This involves planning and coordinating the actions necessary to complete type approval and homologation for a variety of export markets.

What you'll do...

  • Analyze product offerings for export markets and develop program specific homologation or type approval plans.

  • Ensure that robust homologation test strategies are in place to develop and certify a diverse range of vehicle offerings.

  • Act as single point of contact to identify and collect homologation documentation and technical data.

  • Track and report homologation progress.

  • Identify technical, process, and documentation issues and drive resolution to completion.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related engineering degree.

  • Experience planning and managing complex programs/projects from initiation to completion.

  • Continuous improvement mindset.

  • Able to work effectively under time pressure.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often with conflicting or competing objectives.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional teams.

Even better, you may have...

  • Familiarity with FMVSS, EPA, and ECE compliance standards and documentation.

  • Good communication and negotiation skills.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and other communication tools.

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.     
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
