About the Role
Adeptus Advisors Group, LLC, a growing full-service CPA and Business Management firm with offices in New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, Maryland, White Plains, and California, is seeking a Manager to support our Los Angeles Business Management practice. We are a tight-knit team that specializes in music business management, with a clientele consisting mainly of touring artists, producers, songwriters, and independent labels.
This role is ideal for a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience supporting clients such as touring musicians, music producers, songwriters, and other creative talent. The ideal candidate brings both strategic oversight and hands-on accounting skills, with a client-service mindset and deep industry knowledge.
Position Overview
The Manager serves as the most hands-on day-to-day team member within the Business Management department, overseeing the full financial life cycle for a roster of clients in the music and touring industry. This role requires tax experience and, critically, direct experience working within the music/touring industry. The Manager acts as the central point of coordination — tracking financial activity, supervising associates, managing client relationships, and serving as the primary liaison between the tax team and clients.
This is a high-visibility, high-responsibility role suited to a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage competing priorities, exercise sound financial judgment, and communicate effectively with clients, their teams, and internal staff.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Cash Management
Track payables, receivables, and deals across client accounts
Review cash flow reports and associate bookkeeping deliverables for accuracy and completeness
Monitor cash flow issues closely; proactively manage clients and their teams on related matters
Approve payments — or obtain proper client approval — prior to disbursement to associates
Perform advanced bookkeeping entries as needed
Tax Coordination
Liaise between the tax team and clients regarding quarterly estimates and tax return preparation
Client & Team Communication
Monitor email and text communications closely; delegate appropriately, both downward to associates and upward to leadership
Prepare financial presentation documents for clients and partners
Serve as a key point of contact for client financial matters
Credit Card & Payment Tracking
Track credit card payments and distribute statements to clients
Delegate credit card statement tracking to associates when no cash flow concerns are present
Research credit/debit card issues and delegate resolution to associates as appropriate
Tour & Royalty Management
Oversee tour- and show-specific payment tracking and reconciliation
Track royalties, liaising directly with the royalties team on related matters
Payroll & Insurance
Oversee and track payroll; direct associates in processing payroll and onboarding new employees
Obtain and maintain insurance coverage as required
Team Leadership
Train and supervise associates, ensuring quality and consistency of work product
Serve as the most responsible day-to-day team member, setting the standard for accountability and client service
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business management, or a related field
CPA certification preferred
Required: Prior experience in the music and/or touring industry
Experience in tax matters, including quarterly estimates and return coordination
Demonstrated experience supervising and training staff
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to manage sensitive client and financial matters
Proficiency in bookkeeping and financial reporting software
Ability to work in-office in Los Angeles, with hybrid flexibility
