Associate, Global Government Relations
JPMorgan Chase’s Global Government Relations (GGR) team engages with policymakers around the globe and represents the firm before federal, state, and local governments in the United States. GGR focuses on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the firm, supports business development with government clients, and promotes the firm as a responsible corporate citizen.
As an Associate on the Global Government Relations team, you will support a new U.S. Foreign Policy practice. This group will focus on U.S. foreign and international economic policy and the political and policy environment impacting the firm’s ability to operate internationally and conduct business in foreign markets; issues include market access, investment regulation, sanctions and trade policy, among others. The position will also support the implementation of the firm’s Strategic Resiliency Initiative.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor U.S. foreign and international economic policy developments globally, analyzing emerging trends and potential impact.
Track policy proposals, key actors, and timelines across priority topics and regions.
Draft analytical memos on geopolitical and policy developments, emerging issues, and potential opportunities; translate complex issues into clear implications for internal stakeholders.
Work with the GGR team, Corporate Responsibility and business units to engage government officials on political, business and corporate responsibility-related issues.
Develop advocacy materials supporting the firm’s policy objectives, coordinating interests to ensure consistent messaging and execution.
Support engagement with lines of business, including regional and country leadership, firm risk, legal and compliance, regulatory affairs and communications.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years of relevant experience in public policy, government, and/or related policy-facing roles
Strong analytical skills and independent problem-solving ability, with sound judgment and a demonstrated ability to drive collaborative decision-making
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts, policy issues, and strategies to varied audiences
Strong organizational skills with proven project management experience and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Experience presenting to and communicating with senior leadership, including translating analysis into clear recommendations
Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across stakeholders and functions
High attention to detail and strong follow-through, ensuring accuracy, quality, and completeness of work product
Positive, proactive self-starter with excellent time management, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
