Accountabilities
- Assess existing PostgreSQL and legacy database environments, producing structured recommendations, runbooks, and modernization strategies
- Lead database migration projects from Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL to PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, data transfer, and remediation of application logic
- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery architectures using PostgreSQL technologies such as Patroni, EFM, and PGD
- Perform advanced performance tuning across queries, configurations, and infrastructure layers to optimize reliability and efficiency
- Implement backup, recovery, and upgrade strategies including PITR, WAL archiving, and version lifecycle management
- Support customers in building modern data platforms, including data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics solutions in cloud environments
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities, LLM-based workflows, and RAG pipelines into client data ecosystems where applicable
- Contribute to pre-sales activities by shaping professional services proposals and defining technical delivery scope
- 2–5 years (Consultant) or 5–8+ years (Senior Consultant) of experience in database engineering, DBA roles, or data engineering consulting
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, replication, and high availability setups
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server, particularly in migration scenarios
- Solid SQL skills and understanding of database design and data modeling principles
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems and scripting (Bash, Python, or equivalent)
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
- Strong Python and/or Scala skills for data pipelines and automation use cases
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and modern analytics architectures
- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks or data science libraries is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus
