Material Handling Equipment Technician – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Material Handling Equipment Technician at JLL, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing automated systems that keep our operations running smoothly. This position focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on conveyor systems, robotics, and electromechanical equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to operational efficiency, safety, and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Perform preventative maintenance routines on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and automated conveyor systems with accurate documentation
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime and maintain operational flow
- Collaborate with Operations teams across the facility to ensure seamless communication and support
- Track, organize, and manage department inventory of parts and tools
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and protocols
- Conduct predictive maintenance procedures to identify potential equipment failures before they occur
- Move up to 49 pounds and remain standing or walking for shifts lasting up to 12 hours
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience with PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work flexible schedules including 2nd shift, weekends, nights, and holidays
- Physical capability to perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
- Demonstrated ability to work in varying conditions including small spaces, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and standing on concrete for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields
- 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
- 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment and conducting predictive/preventative maintenance
- 1+ years of metal and wood fabrication experience
- 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Knowledge of AutoStore ASRS and robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance
