Adv Mech Design Engineer

Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product design team at our Bangalore Design Center. Candidates with strong experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), electromechanical product design, and Aerospace applications are preferred. This role requires an independent technical contributor capable of leading complex product development activities from concept through production release. The selected candidate will work within Honeywell's Sensing solution business, developing advanced sensor and switch products for Aerospace and Defense line of business.Key Responsibilities
Independently lead mechanical design and development activities for electromechanical products from concept through qualification and production release.
Own technical deliverables, engineering quality, and execution of assigned product development programs.
Drive product architecture, design decisions, and technical problem solving while balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and schedule requirements.
Develop expertise in the product line and proactively identify product improvement, cost reduction, and growth opportunities.
Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Design robust mechanical packaging solutions for products operating in harsh Aerospace environments.
Perform concept generation, trade studies, detailed design, tolerance analysis, and technical risk assessments.
Drive DFMEA activities and develop mitigation plans for identified design risks.
Work with simulation, validation, quality, sourcing, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure successful product development and launch.
Lead product failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Create and review CAD models, engineering drawings, technical reports, test plans, and project documentation.
Support Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) through product lifecycle management processes.
Ensure adherence to engineering standards, design guidelines, and quality requirements.
Required Experience and Education
B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
8–10 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
Proven experience leading New Product Development programs.
Strong experience in electromechanical product design and mechanical packaging.
Aerospace product development experience preferred.
Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric (Pro/ENGINEER).
Experience with Teamcenter or equivalent PLM/PDM systems.
Professional Skills and Knowledge
Strong experience designing electromechanical products with machined, plastic, sheet metal, and cast components.
Expertise in mechanical packaging for rugged and harsh environmental applications.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, coatings, and environmental protection methods.
Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM, DFA, and detailed drawing creation.
Hands-on experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and risk mitigation methodologies.
Ability to predict, quantify, and mitigate technical risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
Effective communication and presentation skills with customers, suppliers, and global engineering teams.
