The Nampa Orthopedics and Sports Medicine clinic is looking for a motivated and organized Medical Assistant!

Position Summary & Highlights:

  • You will be a part of the Nampa Orthopedics team supporting multiple providers and surgeons and working alongside with MAs, RNs, and Athletic Trainers.

  • Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements below before applying. CNA certification does not count towards MA certification. MA experience or schooling is required.

What You Will Do:

  • In addition to rooming patient duties, you will assist providers during clinic visits, apply and remove casts and splints, draw up injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, and suture removals.

  • You will also assist with patient phone calls, messages and follow up communication, and complete and manage clinic paperwork and documentation including prior authorizations, in-basket tasks, regulatory items, and MRI authorizations.

  • This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop orthopedic clinical skills while working closely with a dedicated team of providers and caring for a diverse patient population.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Orthopedic experience or knowledge or a strong interest in orthopedics;

  • Enjoys working in a team environment and supporting multiple providers;

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, is adaptable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours/week, 5 - 8 hour shifts, Mondays – Fridays, hours varying around 7:30am - 5:30pm.

  • Shift start and end time can vary based on providers' schedules and staffing needs.

  • Nampa: 4424 E Flamingo Ave., Ste. 110, Nampa, Idaho 83687 (Near the Nampa Medical Center campus)

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • *Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
