What You Can Expect

We're looking for an experienced Inventory Planner to join our ANZ Supply Chain team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with inventory planning experience in the orthopaedic or broader medical device industry who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where inventory availability directly supports patient care.

You'll take ownership of a dedicated product portfolio, ensuring implants and surgical instruments are available when hospitals and surgeons need them, while maintaining healthy inventory levels and achieving key planning targets.

Working closely with Demand Planning, Product Management, Finance, Operations, overseas manufacturing sites and local Loan Set teams, you'll play a critical role in balancing customer service, inventory optimisation and business performance.

How You'll Create Impact

As the Inventory Planner, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing inventory planning for a dedicated portfolio of orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Participating in S&OP meetings and collaborating with Demand Planning to align inventory with business forecasts.
  • Building strong relationships with global manufacturing sites and suppliers to ensure supply continuity and resolve shortages.
  • Planning inventory to achieve service level, Days on Hand (DOH) and Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory targets.
  • Managing the weekly purchase order replenishment cycle and maintaining optimal safety stock levels.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, purchase order due dates and backorders to proactively minimise supply risks.
  • Supporting successful product launches, instrument planning and new product introductions.
  • Assisting Product Management with product lifecycle planning, including phase-outs and inventory transitions.
  • Redeploying excess inventory across the ANZ network to maximise inventory utilisation.
  • Monitoring inventory balances between Australia and New Zealand to optimise customer service.
  • Managing consignment inventory performance and providing recommendations to improve utilisation.
  • Monitoring surgical instrument utilisation and coordinating capital instrument releases in line with forecasts and budgets.
  • Supporting Finance through instrument budget reporting and inventory analysis.
  • Assisting with receiving priorities when operational requirements demand.

What Makes You Stand Out

You'll be an analytical, proactive planner who enjoys solving complex supply chain challenges and building strong relationships across the business.

You'll also bring:

  • Previous experience in Inventory Planning, Supply Planning, Demand Planning or Supply Chain within the medical device, orthopaedic, healthcare or similarly regulated industry.
  • Experience managing inventory across multiple product portfolios in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including safety stock, replenishment planning, DOH and inventory optimisation.
  • Exposure to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
  • Advanced analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong SAP experience and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both local and global teams.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands while consistently meeting deadlines and KPIs.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Engineering, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working within a global medical device or healthcare organisation.
  • Exposure to orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments or hospital supply chains will be highly regarded.

Travel Expectations

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 5%).
