Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Tech, you will actively perform a variety of cleaning tasks necessary to maintain and improve the appearance and sanitary conditions of all campuses.

 

Every day you will  clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas following hospital infection-control standards.  Safely handle, transport, and dispose of bio-hazard waste, regular trash, and linens according to regulatory guidelines.

 

To be successful in this role, you will operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers.

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas.
  • Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
  • Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste and linens
  • Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
  • Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
  • You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.

Job Requirements

Requirements

 

  • Housekeeping experience utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Acute health-care work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
