A bit about the role
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you'll be responsible for driving new sponsorship revenue across Shoptalk Spring, Shoptalk Fall and Groceryshop.
This is a true hunter role focused almost entirely on generating new business. You'll identify and engage prospective sponsors, build relationships with senior executives, and develop tailored sponsorship solutions that help technology companies connect with the world's largest retailers and consumer brands.
You'll be selling to some of the biggest names in retail technology—including SaaS providers, AI companies, payment platforms, commerce technology firms, logistics providers, marketing technology companies and enterprise software organizations.
Success in this role comes from being proactive, commercially driven and relentlessly focused on building pipeline, opening new doors and closing complex enterprise sponsorship agreements.

As part of your role, you'll:
- Meet and exceed individual sponsorship revenue targets while contributing to overall team performance.
- Identify, prospect and close new sponsorship opportunities across the retail technology ecosystem.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers including CMOs, CROs, Heads of Ecommerce, Retail Innovation, Digital Transformation, Marketing, Partnerships and Sales.
- Develop creative sponsorship and marketing solutions tailored to each client's commercial objectives.
- Generate and manage a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking and industry engagement.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle.
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, forecasting and pipeline reporting.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience from first conversation through event execution.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Content, Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
- Stay informed on retail, ecommerce and technology market trends to identify emerging sponsorship opportunities.
Here's what we're looking for:
- 4+ years' experience in consultative B2B sales.
- Proven success generating new business and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience selling sponsorships, media, SaaS, technology solutions or enterprise partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of the retail technology, ecommerce or digital commerce ecosystem.
- Demonstrated success selling into enterprise technology organizations and building relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Track record of negotiating and closing high-value commercial agreements.
- Strong CRM management, forecasting and strategic pipeline management experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, resilient and self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout the US to meet clients and attend industry events as required.
Nice to have:
- Experience selling sponsorships for large-scale conferences, exhibitions or B2B events.
- Existing network across retail technology, ecommerce, marketing technology, payments, AI or digital commerce organizations.
- Experience selling into retailers, consumer brands or technology providers serving the retail industry.
The benefits:
- Competitive base salary of 80,000 to 120,000 USD.
