The IT Assistant II provides technical support and assistance to users within Jabil, Inc., ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware and software, and assisting with IT projects.
Responsibilities:**
* Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, both in person and remotely.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
* Assist users with account management, password resets, and access permissions.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, backups, and virus scans.
* Document IT incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the IT service management system.
* Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff as needed.
* Assist with the deployment and setup of new IT equipment.
* Support audio/visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
* Participate in IT asset management, including inventory tracking and disposal.
* Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:**
* Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 1-3 years of experience in an IT support role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
* Experience with hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
* Basic understanding of IT service management principles (e.g., ticketing systems).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) are a plus.
