Job Description
The Senior Import/Export Analyst supports the execution of import and export compliance activities across the U.S. and Canada, operating as an important individual contributor within the North America Trade Management Team (NATM). You will report to the NATM Supervisor and be responsible for hands-on transactional execution, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of compliance activities within established processes and priorities set by the Supervisor.
The Senior Analyst serves as an important knowledge resource to the team, supporting consistency in execution while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimization. You will also contribute to modernization efforts through identifying and supporting use cases for AI and automation within compliance workflows.
You wlll interpret complex customs regulations, while partnering with NATM leadership to agree on executional approach for Rockwell. You will flex across both import and export functions, supporting priority activities as needs and critical timelines dictate.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed review of customs entries, filings, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Apply regulatory requirements to transactions, partnering with the Supervisor and leadership team on interpretation and execution decisions for complex or high-risk scenarios
- Maintain required documentation and records following compliance standards
- Resolve discrepancies, data issues, and documentation gaps
- Work through established channels with brokers and team members to correct transactional errors
- Escalate systemic issues, repeated errors, or time-sensitive risks to the Supervisor
- Prepare and build PSC and protest filings observing defined processes
- Track assigned filings against deadlines and flag risks to ensure timely submission
- Support identification and documentation of eligible IEEPA responsibility recovery opportunities
- Ensure supporting data and documentation are complete and audit-ready
- Complete compliance tasks transitioning into NATM based on defined procedures
- Support stabilization of processes by following documented workflows and identifying inconsistencies
- Support responsibility drawback activities, including data collection, validation, and documentation
- Help with CTPAT-related tasks, including documentation maintenance and compliance support activities
- Be an important knowledge resource, supporting application of regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve transactional efficiency, data validation, and compliance accuracy
- Support broader compliance modernization efforts through practical use-case
- Collaborate partner to support compliance projects and issue resolutions
- Maintain flexibility to adjust focus in response to time-sensitive compliance requirements
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, or related field
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
- 6+ years of experience in import/export compliance or customs operations
- Experience with U.S. Customs regulations and export compliance requirements
- Interpret complex regulatory requirements, while working collaboratively with leadership to translate interpretation into execution
- Experience performing transactional compliance activities (entry review, filings, documentation validation)
- Experience supporting PSCs, protests, responsibility drawback, or similar activities
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (or progress toward certification)
- Experience supporting responsibility recovery efforts (PSC/protests, IEEPA)
- Familiarity with responsibility drawback processes
- Exposure to CTPAT or similar trade compliance/security programs
- Experience working with or transitioning work from shared services or COE models
- Experience with data tools, reporting, or audit analytics
