Compensation Range:

$81,307.00 - $109,761.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Social Work Clinical Manager in Pediatrics is responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality social work services within the Pediatric Department. The Clinical Manager collaborates with the Director of Social Work in the development, implementation and evaluation of interdisciplinary programs and services in the department. The Social Work Clinical Manager represents the Social Work Division on diverse committees of the Department of Pediatrics and OB/GYN, the Hospital and the community. The Social Work Clinical Manager provides clinical and administrative supervision to assigned social work staff. The Social Work Clinical Manager carries out administrative, teaching and consultative responsibilities within the Social Work Division, the Hospital and the community.

The Social Work Clinical Manager is responsible for collaborating with Pediatric Division and OB/GYN Chairs and Nurse Managers in assigned pediatric and OB/GYN specialty areas to assess social work staffing needs, service models and provide continuous monitoring and enhancement of social work service delivery. The Social Work Clinical Manager ensures quality assurances processes and in-service training programs for assigned social work staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes and maintains liaison with the division chairs in assigned areas, departmental and administrative staff, and nursing personnel in order to participate in interdisciplinary management activities  including planning, program development, operations monitoring and program evaluation.  Participates in interdisciplinary committees including those focused on clinical programs, policy and procedures, quality assurance, safety and interdisciplinary training. 
  • Develops, enhances and maintains program descriptions and professional position descriptions for assigned staff. Ensures professional recruitment, hiring and credentialing of assigned social work staff. Provides clinical and administrative supervision of assigned staff. Ensures that services provided by assigned social work staff conform to the quality standards and policies and procedures of the Social Work Division, Hospital and applicable State and Federal regulations. Applies personnel management actions such as performance improvement plans, disciplinary measures and involuntary separation as indicated. Ensures completion of competency assessments and performance reviews according to established timelines.  Assures staff have completed all mandatory training and health screens and requirements. Ensures statistical monitoring and medical record audits.
  • Collaborates with the Social Work Director in the management of the Social Work budget for the assigned clinical areas. Ensures appropriate risk management of critical social work practice events in consultation with the Social Work Director and others as indicated. Oversees social work clinical operations within the clinical areas and recommends appropriate administrative and personnel interventions to assure quality enhancement, problem resolution, increased effectiveness and efficiency. Serves on or leads SWD committees. Serves as a SW pediatric consultant and SW administrator on – call. Completes all required training and health updates.  Provides administrative coverage in the absence of Social Work administrative leaders.
  • Provides leadership to pediatric patient advisory committees. Provides training in areas of expertise to social workers, and Hospital staff. Participates in national/state/local professional conferences and trainings. Participates in interdisciplinary research.  Provides clinical consultation and direct clinical services to uncovered pediatric clinical areas.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison relationships with community organizations and professional associations and may serve on relevant community/professional y boards
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work or related field and 5 years of practice in social work within the health field including supervisory experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker upon hire required
