Job Description
Rockwell is seeking a Power BI–focused BI Analyst to join an agile team responsible for delivering scalable, enterprise-grade analytics solutions. This role will primarily focus on designing, developing, and supporting Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across global stakeholders.
You will be reporting to TEAM LEAD - BI & DATA ANALYTICS.
Position Summary:
The BI Analyst will be responsible for end-to-end Power BI solution development, including data modelling, report design, performance optimization, and governance. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Power BI, data analytics, and SQL-based data sources, along with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
This role requires a data-first mindset and strong analytical skills. Additionally, it demands hands-on experience in building scalable BI solutions leveraging Power BI, Power Query, and enterprise data platforms (Azure SQL / SharePoint / Dataverse).
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic data models for enterprise use
- Gather and translate business requirements into scalable and impactful BI solutions
- Apply best practices in dimensional modeling (star schema) and semantic model design
- Build and optimize data models using Power Query, DAX, and relational data principles
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation across all reports and datasets
- Optimize dataset performance (model size, refresh efficiency, query performance)
- Align reporting outputs with standardized KPI definitions and business frameworks
- Develop and maintain reusable datasets and governed data models
- Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with data owners
- Perform trend analysis and exploratory analytics to identify insights and performance drivers
- Design intuitive, user-friendly dashboards to allow self-service BI adoption
- Communicate insights, assumptions, and data limitations to partners
- Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources (Azure SQL, SharePoint, APIs.
- Maintain documentation for datasets, calculations, and data lineage
- Collaborate with global teams and follow Agile delivery practices
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and dimensional modeling (star schema)
- Experience working with enterprise data sources (Azure SQL, SQL Server, SharePoint, etc.)
- Experience with business KPIs (operations, finance, performance metrics)
- Translate our requirements into analytical solutions and applicable insights
- Experience working in data governance-aligned environments
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Hands-on expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization best practices)
- Experience in optimizing large-scale or enterprise Power BI datasets and reports
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data pipeline design
- Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and reporting standards
- Exposure to advanced analytics (trend analysis, forecasting, AI-ready datasets)
- Experience integrating Power BI with APIs, cloud platforms, or multiple enterprise systems
- Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) – secondary skill
- Experience with Dataverse or cloud-based data platforms
- Microsoft Certification: Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) or equivalent
