A Day in the Life

We are seeking a Physician Relations Director who will play a leadership role in managing the Physician Relations team as well as developing and executing our consultative meeting strategy for the Peripheral Vascular Health business. The Physician Relations Director will lead the team responsible for the development and implementation of all physician engagement programs including physician consultative meetings as well as global physician contracts, compliance and payment. 



You will be empowered to develop the strategy and drive the planning and implementation of physician customer consulting interactions and value-added programs including advisory boards, think tanks, and senior leader site visits. You will be responsible to develop and support best in class customer visit programs for all PVH products and therapy areas. Take a lead role in managing strategic intent, recruitment, agreements, agenda development, communications, meeting facilitation, and reporting while managing within budgetary guidelines. Work closely with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and Medical Science Advisers in collaboration with Marketing, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory and Legal, as well as with other related Medtronic businesses across all geographies to execute these physician engagement programs



Develop programs and team to provide a world-class level of customer service on a day-to-day basis that represents Peripheral Vascular Health as a partner with stakeholders to deliver physician consultative meetings

         

         

A Day in the Life   

 

  • Lead the Physician Relations team, including attracting and developing key talent to support Medical Affairs team and PVH business objectives. Oversee team’s performance through quarterly conversations and annual performance evaluations.  

  • Drive, manage, and communicate overall Physician Engagement strategy for PVH, outlining current relationships and identifying future KOL opportunities. Ensure alignment with PVH’s  business goals and strategies by leading agenda development/planning and by driving and guiding an overall Customer Engagement consulting strategy including the Hypercare plan for U.S. launches in FY27. 

  • Develop and execute overall strategy and program identification for customer visits including program goals, objectives, tactics, policies, procedures and concierge level service standards; create measures for key stakeholders. 

  • Provide quarterly reports on the Medical Science function metrics. 

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers and the field teams regarding  PVH’s consulting and visit opportunities Lead the PREP nomination process, gather feedback, and facilitate quarterly PREP calls to share updates on HCP faculty and consultative activities with cross-functional partners. 

 

  • Partner with Medical Education, Medical Science Advisers, Scientific Communications, Upstream and Downstream Marketing, Research, Innovation, and other functional groups in initiative planning and execution. 

  • Ensure all programs comply with Medtronic Business Conduct Standards and Compliance. 

  • Keep abreast of trends, leading developments and technology (implement as appropriate).  

  • Manage budgets to meet company and business unit objectives. 

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across marketing, clinical evidence, field training, and executive teams. 

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor Degree 

  • 10+ years experience leading strategy  in a Physician Program or Medical Education role in the healthcare industry (8 years with an advanced degree.)

  • Ability to travel globally 30% of the time 

 

 

Nice to Have: 

 

  • Master's degree preferred 

  • Experience managing and developing teams  

  • Knowledge of upstream and downstream functions and the product development process is a plus 

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$196,000.00 - $294,000.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
