Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense claims efficiently.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements, reports, and accounting documentation.
- Prepare individual income tax returns and support entity tax return preparation.
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across multiple client accounts and industries.
- Identify opportunities for advisory support and process enhancements.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and improvements in accounting workflows.
- Support continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations is highly preferred.
- Experience preparing individual and entity tax returns.
- Experience with BAS, GST, and compliance-related accounting activities.
- Proficiency with accounting and productivity tools such as MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Experience working with clients from different industries is a plus.
