Accountabilities:

    The Intermediate Accountant will support daily accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage responsibilities independently in a remote work environment.

    • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
    • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims efficiently.
    • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Assist with preparation of financial statements, reports, and accounting documentation.
    • Prepare individual income tax returns and support entity tax return preparation.
    • Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across multiple client accounts and industries.
    • Identify opportunities for advisory support and process enhancements.
    • Contribute to automation initiatives and improvements in accounting workflows.
    • Support continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting practices.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an accounting professional with experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial reporting. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities remotely.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
      • 3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
      • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
      • Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations is highly preferred.
      • Experience preparing individual and entity tax returns.
      • Experience with BAS, GST, and compliance-related accounting activities.
      • Proficiency with accounting and productivity tools such as MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
      • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
      • Experience working with clients from different industries is a plus.
