Accountabilities
- Manage and review international tax compliance engagements for U.S.-based clients with global operations.
- Review and oversee U.S. international tax reporting requirements, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and related filings.
- Research and analyze complex international tax matters involving cross-border transactions, foreign entities, tax treaties, and multinational structures.
- Support clients with international tax planning, consulting projects, and strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate U.S. tax compliance requirements with foreign jurisdiction considerations to deliver integrated solutions.
- Review work prepared by Associates and Senior team members while providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Manage multiple client engagements, budgets, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Develop strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on international tax matters.
- Stay informed on changes in U.S. international tax legislation, regulations, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different regions to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Contribute to business development activities and support the continued growth of the international tax practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, Canadian CPA, EA, or progress toward a professional designation is preferred.
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience with a focus on international taxation.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based clients with cross-border operations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. international tax compliance, reporting requirements, and regulations.
- Hands-on experience preparing and/or reviewing Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865.
- Understanding of multinational corporate structures, foreign entities, and international tax concepts.
- Experience analyzing cross-border transactions and global tax reporting requirements.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to mentor junior professionals and work effectively with distributed teams.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with foreign tax credits, Subpart F income, GILTI, FDII, and tax treaty analysis.
- Experience working in a Big Four or large public accounting environment.
- Exposure to international tax planning, structuring, and consulting projects.
- French language proficiency.
