Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage the Business-as-Usual (BAU) Water Project Delivery Team, ensuring resources, structures, and processes are aligned with operational objectives and business needs.
- Oversee the successful delivery of potable water infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Provide direct project management support during periods of increased workload, team absences, or critical project phases.
- Ensure all project documentation, design activities, and asset adoption processes are accurately managed and completed through to final handover.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, contractors, and third-party providers to resolve issues proactively and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support commercial and sales activities by providing operational expertise during customer meetings, tender processes, and project escalations.
- Manage project financial performance, including capital budget validation, cost allocation, purchase order management, invoice reviews, and variance reporting.
- Implement effective risk management, reporting frameworks, and governance processes to identify, mitigate, and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle.
- Ensure defects, operational issues, and compliance matters are resolved efficiently while maintaining adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices to ensure assets are delivered to the highest industry standards.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing projects within a water utility company, self-lay provider (SLP), or similar infrastructure environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, construction, and delivery of potable water infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of the UK water industry, including NAV processes and asset adoption requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of utility industry standards and regulations, including NJUG guidance and relevant compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience in people management, team leadership, and the development of high-performing project teams.
- Strong commercial and contract management capabilities, with relevant qualifications considered advantageous.
- Solid financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and financial controls.
- Significant experience in health and safety management, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- In-depth understanding of legal requirements related to asset adoption, infrastructure delivery, and utility operations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and IT skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom is required, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
