Advanced Systems Engineer – Black Boxes - m/f/d

As a member of the Flight Recorders engineering team, you will be part in an organization which is responsible for development of innovative flight recorders technology (also known as Black Boxes).
We have an opportunity for an Advanced Systems Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Brno.
How will your role look like?
You will have an opportunity to guide and oversee airborne system development, allowing you to specialize in an exciting niche within the aerospace engineering field and build up unique subject domain expertise (flight recorders – cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders), which in past helped to shape and improve safety of air traffic.

In this position you will be given an opportunity to grow your technical skills, interact with multiple different stakeholders (engineering, business teams, suppliers, customers and other partners) In addition to daily technical tasks, you will be encouraged to think out of the box and come up with new ideas and or approaches how to grow our recorders business. From the short/mid-term perspective you will grow into Engineering Product owner role, who will have design authority over complete Recorders portfolio.
As a member of the Flight Recorders engineering team, you will participate in the development of new generation of flight recorders (black boxes). Your main responsibilities will be split between SW development, collecting requirements from stakeholders, addressing and coordinating customer issues resolution.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of airborne flight recorders and ground support equipment, including requirements definition and verification
- Development of new generation recorders – Aircraft Image Recorders, Helicopter Recorders
- Participate in integration and system testing on supported target aircraft platform
- Interaction with the relevant suppliers and customers
- Responsible for qualification or delta-qualification of recorders and other accessories (microphones, cockpit control units)
- Actively contribute to continuous improvements of the process, development methodologies, and products
- Ensure compliance with applicable processes, manage reporting (metrics), process improvement and updating documentation
- Participate in defining long term strategies and products roadmap
- Supporting various activities impacting flight recorders – EUROCAE working groups, ARINC sessions
- Contribute to the patent (IDF) agenda, including definition of invention disclosure forms and driving them through the full patenting process
Key Experience & Capabilities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Avionics/Aerospace Engineering/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or related.
- Experience with ARINC429, ARINC717, ARINC767 or similar
- Proven work experience in the aerospace, automotive or similar industry - systems design experience or real-time system & software
- Familiar with system development life cycle including manufacturing and component obsolescence processes and MBSE (Model Based System Engineering)
- Experience with requirements development and usage of configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS or DOORS NG)
- Experience with requirements verification and validation
- Very good level of English language (B2 as a minimum).
- Independent and fast learner, strong team player with a proactive mindset.
