Accountabilities:
- Mentor high school students through end-to-end research projects, from topic selection to final submission
- Provide structured academic guidance on research design, methodology, analysis, and writing
- Support students in developing clear research questions and feasible project scopes
- Deliver regular feedback on drafts, progress, and academic outputs over multi-month engagements
- Conduct remote mentoring sessions via video calls and maintain consistent communication
- Help students build foundational research, critical thinking, and academic writing skills
- Adapt complex academic concepts for a pre-college audience in an accessible way
- Monitor student progress and ensure steady milestone completion throughout the project
- Collaborate with program teams and provide feedback on student engagement and development
- Maintain high-quality mentoring standards aligned with academic and program expectations
- PhD candidate, postdoctoral researcher, lecturer, or professor (or equivalent research experience)
- Affiliation with a top-tier university (top 30 US or top 20 UK institutions preferred)
- Demonstrated research output such as publications, conference contributions, thesis work, or equivalent academic achievements
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, supervising, or academic mentoring (undergraduate or high school level preferred)
- Strong ability to communicate complex academic concepts clearly and effectively
- Genuine interest in mentoring younger students and supporting long-term academic development
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain consistent engagement over extended periods
- Cross-cultural communication skills and comfort working with international students
- Open to feedback and collaborative improvement with students and program teams
