Accountabilities:
- Own the architecture, technical strategy, and delivery of your team’s product area, translating business objectives and roadmaps into scalable engineering solutions.
- Lead complex technical decisions, proactively resolving ambiguous and high-impact challenges before they become delivery risks.
- Design and build advanced AI-powered systems, including agent-based workflows, large language model integrations, and retrieval-augmented generation solutions.
- Drive the development of reliable, production-grade distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Take ownership of critical initiatives from early problem definition through implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Establish engineering standards, architectural patterns, coding practices, and AI-focused development approaches within the team.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to raise the overall engineering bar.
- Partner with product and design teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver meaningful customer outcomes.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and apply relevant advancements in software engineering and artificial intelligence.
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, including experience acting as a technical lead, architect, or owner of significant product areas.
- Strong experience designing, building, and scaling distributed systems in production environments.
- Advanced programming experience with languages such as Go, Python, or other modern backend technologies.
- Proven ability to define technical direction, lead complex projects, and deliver high-impact engineering outcomes.
- Hands-on experience building or scaling AI-powered systems, ideally involving large language models, autonomous agents, or retrieval-augmented systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, reliability, scalability, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to connect technical decisions with business impact and customer value.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience bringing high-impact products from concept to market at scale.
- Background building production-grade AI applications with evaluation, monitoring, and reliability practices.
- Experience in cybersecurity, including security operations, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, or detection engineering.
- Previous experience working in a startup environment or as an early/founding engineer.
- Passion for building highly reliable systems and improving cybersecurity practices through technology.
