We are seeking a Game Theory Expert to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on procurement outcomes. In this role, you will use Game Theory principles to design and execute strategic tendering processes, develop innovative negotiation strategies, and provide high-value consulting to a diverse set of Categories in Amazon including logistics, energy, robotics, equipment, construction, labor, transportation, packaging, and technology. You will be instrumental in delivering measurable cost savings, fostering supplier competition, and enhancing procurement strategies through state-of-the-art methodologies. Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement negotiation strategies using Game Theory and related economic principles that maximize savings and drive optimal procurement outcomes.
- Lead high-stakes procurement tenders using Game Theory methodologies, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives.
- Communicate sophisticated Game Theory concepts and related economic principles to non-technical audiences.
- Build quantitative models to evaluate supplier proposals, total cost of ownership, and compare award scenarios.
- Provide real-time sparring and wargaming for procurement teams during critical negotiation phases.
- Deliver tailored training sessions to equip procurement teams with Game Theory tools and techniques.
- Develop and refine negotiation frameworks, tools, and resources to enable scalable Game Theory adoption across Amazon.
- Continuously push the boundaries of Game Theory application by exploring advanced models and concepts to address evolving challenges.

The Game Theory team operates as an internal consultancy within Amazon’s GPO, partnering with procurement teams from a diverse set of Categories to transform procurement processes and negotiation outcomes. Comprising of passionate Game Theory experts who thrive on analytical challenges, the team is dedicated to pushing the limits of what is possible in procurement. Together, we create strategies that not only deliver cost savings but also drive innovation and long-term value for Amazon.
This role can be based in London, Barcelona or Luxembourg.
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience in supply chain
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Bachelor's degree or above in math/statistics/engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline
- Knowledge of Game Theory.
- Track record of delivering measurable financial impact through analytical or strategic initiatives.
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PHD) in Economics, Game Theory, Auction Theory, Industrial Organization, Market Design, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple demanding customer-oriented projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous, complex business problems using structured analytical approaches in a tight schedule environment.
