The Medical Staff Office Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all operations of the Medical Staff Office at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital (GMH). This role serves as a key liaison between the Loyola University Health System (LUHS) Credentialing Verification Office (CVO), hospital administration, medical staff leadership, and physicians. The Manager oversees medical staff services, credentialing processes, committee operations, accreditation compliance, budgeting, provider access management, and medical staff governance activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standard

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the Medical Staff Office, including staff supervision, performance management, and operational oversight.
  • Manage physician and allied health credentialing and privileging processes, including appointments, reappointments, temporary privileges, and privilege expansions.
  • Coordinate Medical Staff committees by preparing agendas, minutes, reports, and ensuring compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory requirements through effective management of Medical Staff policies, procedures, and governance documents.
  • Oversee Medical Staff Office budgets, financial reporting, vendor payments, and physician on-call compensation processes.
  • Coordinate provider onboarding and system access, including Epic, Lawson, and electronic prescribing platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison between hospital leadership, physicians, credentialing partners, and educational institutions.
  • Support accreditation activities, quality improvement initiatives, physician engagement programs, patient safety efforts, and special Medical Staff projects.
  • Manage academic affiliation agreements and clinical rotation schedules for students, residents, and fellows.
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians, leaders, and operational stakeholders to ensure exceptional Medical Staff services and support.

What you’ll need for this job:  

Minimum Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree 
  • Preferred: Master's Degree

Minimum Experience:

  • Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience 
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience 
  • Details: Minimum three years in health care related profession 

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) 
Preferred: Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
Other: N/A

Pay Range: $21.02 - $32.59 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
