Accountabilities:
- Assess and manage underwriting risk for group benefits plans, ensuring pricing and retention strategies support profitability and long-term portfolio sustainability.
- Develop and maintain rates for new and existing corporate accounts, evaluating financial impact and adjusting structures as needed.
- Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, and responses to client questionnaires for complex group insurance arrangements.
- Manage client requests related to pricing, plan design changes, and contract modifications in collaboration with internal teams.
- Negotiate financial terms, benefit structures, and service agreements while balancing client needs with organizational risk policies.
- Support onboarding of new clients by building structured plan designs and ensuring alignment with internal administration capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support overall business performance.
- Fluency in English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients across multiple Canadian regions.
- Post-secondary education in business, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related analytical field.
- Strong experience in group benefits underwriting, risk assessment, or group insurance product management.
- Solid understanding of the group insurance market, including products, pricing structures, and plan design considerations.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent business acumen with the ability to evaluate financial data and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with confidence influencing internal and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and decision-making discipline.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team structure.
- CEBS or GBA certification is considered an asset.
