Job Purpose:

The Sr IT Portfolio Specialist must successfully support a global project portfolio valued at greater than $40M with approximately 75+ projects detailing the IT department's project commitments that align to the business strategy. This role will be responsible for driving the portfolio discipline ensuring that IT develops an achievable and executable baselined portfolio. The Sr IT Portfolio Specialist will optimize the project portfolio definition, its structure and processes globally, partnering with IT leadership and executives. This process will encompass the IT Strategy, demand management, strategic business alignment of projects to portfolio categories and criteria, project evaluation, selection and prioritization through execution, as well as the tracking and measurement of achieved results. This position should have deep knowledge on the projects from inception to completion to support of the PMO Director, PMO Leads, project managers and delivery managers. They serve as the SPOC for Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and Executives, for all relevant projects in their regional portfolio and are the "go to person" for portfolio related questions. Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as HP PPM is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Develops the end-to-end processes to support global portfolio management, aligning with IT leadership and our customers for optimal design and outcomes

Continually improves all processes for portfolio governance, focused on bringing alignment between legacy companies, leveraging tools for efficiency wherever possible

Produces the IT project portfolio deliverables such as status reports, executive presentations, project tracking and more to ensure IT is delivering on its commitment as well as producing high quality products to the business and management that tells an appropriate story for the audience.

Works with IT and Business project leads to identify, track and report on the portfolio of IT projects throughout the project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, close) as well as through the agile methodology.

Drives portfolio activities related to achieving measurable outcomes by managing schedule, resources, scope, deliverables, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, and communications.

Works with the Project Coordinator to ensure the resource loaded master schedule is updated, accurate and capable of performing portfolio reviews, trade-off decisions, and what if scenarios when required.

Develops thorough project plans including all activities, dates, responsibilities, and dependencies

Prioritizes project tasks based on their impact to the project and follows up with responsible parties to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner

Develops and distributes detailed project status reports at a defined frequency

Proactively investigates impacts the project may have on other business units and IT teams within TD Synnex and works with representatives of those Departments to manage / address those impacts

Establishes and facilitates regular communication forums with the project team and customers both inside and outside of TD Synnex to discuss project details and ensure the project is progressing as expected

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

>5 to 8 Years of relevant work experience

Masters degree preferred

Portfolio Management Certification (PfMP) preferredN/APossesses strong data entry skills.

Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.

Understand, communicate, and collaborate effectively with people across various identities.

Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.

Able to collaborate and build solid, effective working relationships with others.

Able to use relevant computer systems and applications at an intermediate level.

Ability to stay awake and alert while performing work.

Working Conditions:

Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
