Accountabilities:

    The Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions that improve software quality, reliability, and delivery speed.

    • Design and implement scalable, reusable automated testing frameworks using modern testing tools and engineering practices.
    • Lead automation initiatives to transition manual regression processes into efficient automated test suites using Selenium and Playwright.
    • Develop automated tests for web applications, REST/SOAP APIs, and microservices-based architectures.
    • Create and execute load, stress, and performance testing strategies to ensure application stability under high data volumes.
    • Integrate automated testing solutions into CI/CD workflows using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
    • Develop scripts and processes for managing, generating, and masking test data across development, QA, and staging environments.
    • Collaborate with software developers during code reviews to improve testability and encourage strong testing practices.
    • Analyze system architecture and identify potential quality risks early in the development process.
    • Support continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks, and engineering standards.
    • Work independently while collaborating with distributed engineering teams.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with deep expertise in automation testing, DevOps practices, and quality engineering methodologies.

      • 4–6 years of experience in software quality engineering, including at least 3 years focused on automation engineering.
      • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright for web application automation.
      • Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js with practical software development experience.
      • Experience writing shell scripts, working with XML, and developing complex SQL queries for Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
      • Strong understanding of API testing and service-oriented or microservices architectures using tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
      • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
      • Knowledge of Docker containerization and managing test environments or virtualized infrastructure.
      • Understanding of data privacy and security frameworks such as HIPAA or GDPR.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently.
      • Nice-to-have qualifications:

        • Experience with QA certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE.
        • Background working with healthcare, public health systems, or other highly regulated industries.
        • Familiarity with database administration, Oracle/SQL environments, and network infrastructure.
        • Knowledge of testing methodologies such as Six Sigma, CMM, or ISO9000.
        • Experience running automated tests in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
        • Exposure to project management practices and regulated SaaS environments.
