Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain, install, troubleshoot, repair, and test electrical building systems and associated electronic systems, including secondary and primary power distribution, boilers, air compressors, vacuum systems, generators, doors, 400 cycle aircraft power systems, production manufacturing and material processing equipment, PID feedback loops, open loop systems, portable welding equipment, and ground support equipment.
- Perform diagnostic analysis and testing using machinery operation, observation, test equipment, self-diagnostic systems, and computer-aided diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical system issues.
- Develop and implement methods for maintenance, repair, retrofit, or modification of electrical equipment and machinery.
- Conduct primary and secondary testing on electrical breakers, high voltage switches, and protective relays; replace, update, and retrofit components as necessary.
- Monitor electrical parameters such as current, voltage, frequency, and watt-hours at substations using monitoring systems and coordinate prime power activities.
- Install and connect electrical power circuits and electronic control systems for plant facilities; determine power and load requirements, wire size, conduit needs, and demand load relative to power source distance.
- Operate electronic systems and use electrical, electromechanical, and electronic test equipment, measuring devices, shop and power tools, and powered hand tools to accomplish work assignments.
- Use schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, manufacturer/vendor manuals, logic ladders, ladder diagrams, and applicable Boeing standards, as well as national, state, and municipal codes and ordinances, including the National Electrical Code and NFPA standards.
- Fabricate and utilize temporary aids to complete assignments and verify proper operation upon installation; report incomplete or incorrect installation information to supervisors.
- Obtain work assignments from supervisors, team leaders, or computerized maintenance management systems and acquire appropriate electrical drawings for assigned jobs.
- Determine if systems require shutdown or if work can be performed with power on; implement lockout/tagout and tryout procedures as required.
- Troubleshoot electric motors and program or troubleshoot PLC and VFD controlled systems using laptops or HMI screens.
- Service and maintain electrical systems on overhead cranes, gantries, and various building and plant equipment in hazardous and non-hazardous locations.
- Install and maintain lighting fixtures, including fluorescent, metal halide, LED, and lighting control systems; clean sockets and replace ballasts and bulbs as needed.
- Run, cut, splice, and test high voltage electrical cables; install raceways such as conduit and cable trays with associated fittings.
- Pull wire through conduit using fish tape or tuggers; install and terminate field wiring to devices such as switches, relays, outlets, and drives.
- Verify installation functionality ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, WAC codes, and other applicable standards.
- Maintain clear and effective communication across shifts through written, verbal, and electronic means.
- Maintain personal and tool certifications; handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manners.
- Evaluate job requirements including wire size, electrical load, and conduit needs in coordination with engineering.
- Collaborate with other crafts (millwrights, transportation, plumbers, mechanics, vendors) to sequence and complete tasks efficiently.
- Direct and assist employees of equal or lower classification engaged in electrical work, outlining continuity of assignments.
- Operate mechanical lifts (e.g., tiger lift, spider lift, snorkel lift) to access work areas safely.
- Install wire, crimp, terminate, and solder electrical connections using appropriate tools.
- Establish and verify voltage, amperage, frequency, and wattage using test equipment such as circuit trackers, sonic circuit chasers, voltmeters, and ammeters.
- Maintain uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), batteries, battery chargers, and battery maintenance systems.
- Perform incidental work in other maintenance classifications as necessary to complete assignments.
- Coordinate with management, engineering, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and other organizations to analyze facility and equipment design requirements and capabilities.
- Adhere to specified safety standards established by Boeing and regulatory agencies at all times.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
- Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
- Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
- Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
- Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
- Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:
Relevant experience can include academic qualifications, military service, or other industry-related roles.
- 5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- 5+ years of experience working with precision measuring tools.
- 5+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
- 5+ years of experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- 5+ years of experience working with industrial voltage electric systems.
- Basic Computer experience and competency.
- Must be physically able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per day.
