We are seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to support the design, commissioning, and ongoing operation of the electrical systems that power our electrolyzer manufacturing and testing facilities. In this role, you will support all aspects of our facility and manufacturing electrical infrastructure, from equipment installation and commissioning to maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
You will play a critical role in ensuring our manufacturing equipment and facility electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably as we continue to scale production. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, Engineering, Supply Chain, contractors, and external partners to support manufacturing readiness, facility expansion, and electrical infrastructure projects.
You will be based onsite at our Devens, MA facility and report to the Manager of Manufacturing Equipment & Facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of facility and manufacturing electrical systems
- Take ownership of electrical power distribution from the utility point of connection through manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure
- Establish electrical design standards, specifications, and engineering criteria for manufacturing and facility projects
- Develop, interpret, and maintain electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, equipment drawings, P&IDs, and related engineering documentation
- Support the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing and testing equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable electrical codes
- Support electrical safety initiatives including arc-flash studies, short circuit analysis, equipment inspections, and implementation of electrical safety programs
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA 29 CFR 1910, and site-specific electrical safety requirements
- Partner with EHS to maintain electrical safety programs and ensure compliance across manufacturing operations
- Manage electrical work permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and energized work authorizations
- Partner with electrical design firms, mechanical contractors, architects, and internal engineering teams throughout project execution
- Support permitting activities and coordinate with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure regulatory compliance
- Provide technical leadership and consultation on electrical infrastructure for multi-million-dollar electrical capital improvement projects
- Serve as the primary technical resource for facility electrical infrastructure decisions
- Support maintenance activities and respond to after-hours electrical emergencies as needed to maintain facility uptime
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience designing, constructing, commissioning, or maintaining manufacturing or industrial electrical systems
- Strong understanding of medium-voltage electrical distribution systems and industrial power infrastructure
- Detailed knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, OSHA 29 CFR 1910, and arc-flash boundary assessments
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities
- Experience with building electrical systems, facility power distribution, and industrial electrical infrastructure
- Experience developing and maintaining electrical documentation including electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, as-built drawings, and panel schedules
- Experience with energy management systems including smart metering, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and integration with building utilities such as HVAC
- Experience implementing and maintaining electrical safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), energized work procedures, and electrical risk assessments
- Experience with networking, Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, and other low-voltage control systems preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, and external partners
- Excited to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting the scale-up of next-generation electrolyzer technology

MA Zone$162,690—$210,000 USDActual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
