Director, Clinical Excellence
Job Description Summary
The Director, Clinical Excellence will support all business units within Mosaic Health and provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to support advancement of clinical performance through efficient workflows, provider optimization opportunities, ongoing coaching and training, onboarding, and more. This leader is responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing clinical excellence initiatives that align with organizational priorities, value-based care models, and technology platforms (e.g., EHR, telehealth, pre-registration systems). The Director will partner with providers, trainers, coders, clinical staff, and system leaders to standardize best practices, and ensure successful adoption of workflows, coaching frameworks, and outcome-driven strategies across all clinical settings.

Responsibilities
• Develop, lead, and scale clinical excellence programs that support organizational growth, provider performance, and system integration.
• Oversee training and coaching operations that promote adherence to best practices, high-quality documentation, and compliance with clinical care initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects in partnership with Quality, Risk, Coding, Learning & Development, and Clinical Systems teams.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of clinical excellence programs at newly acquired practices, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with organizational culture.
• Supervise a team of Clinical Excellence Trainers and Super Users; define coaching standards, onboarding protocols, and professional development pathways.
• Establish KPIs and success metrics for clinical coaching performance and provider onboarding quality.
• Promote continuous learning and knowledge-sharing across clinical and clerical roles through systemized training, workshops, and performance audits.
• Use operational data, EHR metrics, and feedback loops to identify workflow inefficiencies, documentation issues, and clinical care gaps.
• Guide structured observation and analysis of clinic workflows to inform executive-level decision-making.
• Develop detailed reports and executive summaries that illustrate ROI, clinical quality improvements, and process effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, practice managers, and integration teams to assess provider experience, onboarding satisfaction, and workflow adoption.
• Lead enterprise-wide initiatives related to Mosaic platform optimization, medical margin enhancement, and technology adoption.
• Act as a liaison between clinical staff and corporate departments to facilitate change, improve communication, and accelerate innovation.
• Ensure that training materials, clinical protocols, and coaching initiatives support regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and VBC program objectives (e.g., HCC, Quality Measures).
• Integrate Risk, Quality, and Coding education into training curricula and workflow designs.
• Oversee internal audits, feedback resolution, and action planning in collaboration with compliance and quality teams..
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
• Active clinical licensure (e.g., RN, NP, PA, CMA/RMA, LPN) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, clinical training, or performance improvement.
• Strong understanding of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, preferably athena, and experience leading digital transformation in clinical settings.
• Expertise in value-based care models, quality metrics (e.g., HEDIS, STAR, HCC), and payer programs.
• Demonstrated experience with workflow optimization, change management, and coaching strategy.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills across clinical and executive audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, data dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to clinic locations, executive meetings, and integration events.

Compensation:
$137,150.00to
$205,724.00
