OperForward Deployed Implementation Manager (DACH / Belgium)RemoteFreelanceProject ManagementAbout OperOper, a European Fintech company, is a leader in cloud-based digital mortgage software. We provide personalized journeys for borrowers and lenders. Oper's technology streamlines the mortgage application process, eliminates paperwork, and increases transparency. The fastest growing part of our business is Herman, our AI agent for mortgage origination. Herman reads documents, checks them, and works a credit file the way an analyst would, inside the regulated workflow of a real bank. It runs on sovereign EU infrastructure, because our clients cannot send mortgage data anywhere else. Phase by phase, it automates more of the origination process: first employed borrowers, then the self-employed, and onward. This is not a chatbot bolted onto old software. It is agentic software doing real work in a regulated environment.A passionate and engaging team of around 30 stellar Fintech operators works vigorously to transform European mortgages by enhancing efficiency and alleviating borrower anxiety. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Motive Ventures, we have raised EUR 14 million, placing Oper at the forefront of revolutionizing mortgages in Europe. Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium. The Forward Deployed Implementation Manager role sits at the centre of how we deliver Herman, and the broader platform around it, inside the bank.Your MissionYou bring Oper's software into large financial institutions. And you help build the services organisation that delivers it. This is a builder role. You shape how we work, alongside the founding and management team, while running real implementations from day one.Delivering Herman means understanding both the bank's reality and what the agent can actually do, then closing the gap between them. You do not need to be a delivery veteran. What matters more is how you think. You understand complex systems quickly. You work your way deep into things. You enjoy being close to the customer, and you have the analytical sharpness to understand how software architecture works and why certain decisions get made. You work alongside forward deployed engineers, not above them. You translate between the bank and the product. You coordinate distributed teams. You are on-site when it matters, but not full time.TasksRun Herman and platform implementations, from kick-off to go-live.Build relationships with the right people in the bank: product, risk, IT, and the business.Coordinate distributed teams across engineering, QA, and product.Translate architectural and compliance decisions into something the client understands and trusts.Drive change inside the institution, not just feature delivery.Feed the roadmap, not just the delivery. Your field experience directly informs our agentic product strategy, and the team learns from it.Use AI to shape your own work. You build yourself tools, you orchestrate agents, you create reusable building blocks. For you this is a given.Help build Oper's professional services organisation from the ground up, together with the founding and management team.RequirementsA strong analytical foundation. Maybe from strategy consulting, maybe from somewhere else. You solve problems you have not seen before.Strong organizational instincts. You bring structure to complexity and keep things moving forward.Real curiosity about IT systems and about AI. You want to understand how things work, not just that they work.A feel for customers. People trust you and come back to you.The drive to build something, not just to execute it.Ability to zoom out to set direction, and zoom in to get it done.Clear, direct communication.🌍 LanguagesGerman and English are both required.
