Shipping & Receiving Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Manager to oversee daily shipping, receiving, staging, and loading operations in a steel manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring materials and finished products are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining proper documentation and meeting production schedules. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in steel manufacturing, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead warehouse and shipping activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, staging, and loading trucks
• Coordinate the movement of steel materials and finished products to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare, review, and maintain Bills of Lading (BOL) and shipping documentation
• Operate a forklift proficiently for loading, unloading, and material handling
• Ensure proper staging of materials for production and customer shipments
• Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Excel and other tracking systems
• Communicate with production, transportation, and management teams to support daily operations
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
• Supervise and support shipping/receiving team members as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in steel manufacturing is required
• Prior experience managing shipping and receiving operations preferred
• Proficient forklift operation skills required
• Familiarity with BOLs, truck loading procedures, and material staging required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and inventory/shipping documentation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
