Accountabilities:
- Lead all fiduciary and trust operations, including custody activities, settlement processes, reconciliation, reserve operations, and account administration.
- Build and maintain operational frameworks, procedures, controls, and business continuity plans aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Establish the operational infrastructure required from pre-opening through ongoing business operations.
- Serve as the senior fiduciary leader, overseeing trust administration, fiduciary responsibilities, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Ensure accurate fiduciary recordkeeping, including account setup, asset segregation, documentation, periodic reviews, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to fiduciary controls, conflicts of interest, asset protection, and operational safeguards.
- Provide executive-level reporting to the Board of Directors regarding fiduciary activities, operational performance, risks, and compliance matters.
- Support governance processes by preparing board materials, committee reports, operational metrics, and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain examination readiness by ensuring audit documentation, operational records, and internal controls meet regulatory requirements.
- Partner with compliance, legal, risk, operations, and technology teams to manage regulatory obligations and operational improvements.
- Oversee relationships with critical third-party providers, including banking partners, custodians, technology vendors, and service providers.
- Lead operational resilience initiatives, including incident response, continuity planning, and remediation efforts.
- Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and operational excellence.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in banking operations, trust operations, custody operations, payments, or related financial services environments.
- Direct experience working within a federally regulated financial institution, national bank, federally chartered trust company, or equivalent organization.
- Strong knowledge of fiduciary regulations, trust administration standards, regulatory expectations, and operational controls.
- Demonstrated experience managing fiduciary or custodial account operations, including recordkeeping, asset segregation, account reviews, and control frameworks.
- Proven ability to build and operate complex, high-volume, control-focused environments within regulated industries.
- Experience presenting to or working directly with executive leadership, boards of directors, regulators, and institutional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of internal audit processes, operational risk management, and regulatory examination preparation.
- Experience managing third-party relationships in accordance with financial services vendor risk expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead teams in a highly regulated environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence.
- Ability to operate strategically while managing detailed operational responsibilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel for regulatory meetings, business engagements, and institutional activities as needed.
- Experience serving as a designated Fiduciary Officer, Trust Officer, or equivalent leadership role.
- Background supporting the launch, chartering, or early operational phase of a bank or trust company.
- Experience with digital asset custody, blockchain-based financial infrastructure, stablecoin operations, or tokenized assets.
- Familiarity with emerging digital asset regulatory frameworks.
- Experience within a fintech-enabled or technology-driven financial institution.
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) certification or equivalent professional credential.
- Experience with payments, cross-border settlement, or institutional custody solutions.
