Accountabilities:

    • Lead and execute the data center vertical market strategy, including target account planning, market positioning, specification influence, pipeline development, and revenue growth initiatives.
    • Identify and develop business opportunities throughout the full data center project lifecycle, from early planning and design through construction, commissioning, and facility operations.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including general contractors, engineering firms, EPCs, contractors, system integrators, consultants, and other industry partners.
    • Engage project influencers early in the design process to increase solution visibility, support specification inclusion, and strengthen market positioning.
    • Develop stakeholder maps for strategic accounts and projects by identifying decision-makers, technical contributors, commercial contacts, and key influencers.
    • Partner with sales teams, branch organizations, suppliers, and business leaders to create and advance strategic data center opportunities.
    • Support local sellers by providing market intelligence, account insights, specification strategies, and project guidance to improve sales effectiveness.
    • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, pipeline visibility, project milestones, follow-up activities, and action plans across active pursuits.
    • Coordinate opportunity transitions between business development, sales teams, product teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
    • Develop bundled solution strategies that combine automation, electrical infrastructure, and related capabilities to differentiate offerings in the market.
    • Provide competitive intelligence, customer insights, pricing support, and project-specific recommendations in collaboration with commercial leadership.
    • Partner with product, marketing, operations, and sales teams to strengthen market presence and customer engagement.
    • Represent the organization at industry events, associations, and forums to build relationships and identify emerging opportunities.
    • Monitor data center market trends, construction activity, technologies, competitive developments, and industry changes to inform business strategy.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
      • 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, market strategy, or related commercial roles within data centers, industrial automation, electrical distribution, or mission-critical infrastructure.
      • Proven experience developing relationships with contractors, engineering firms, EPC organizations, system integrators, consultants, and other data center ecosystem stakeholders.
      • Strong understanding of data center project workflows, stakeholder structures, buying processes, technical decision-making, and commercial drivers.
      • Demonstrated ability to influence specifications and participate effectively in design-build environments.
      • Experience creating and managing account plans, stakeholder maps, opportunity tracking processes, and strategic sales initiatives.
      • Strong pipeline management skills with the ability to track opportunities, milestones, engagement activities, and next steps.
      • Technical knowledge of industrial automation, controls, PLCs, OT/IT convergence, electrical infrastructure, power distribution, switchgear, backup power systems, or related mission-critical technologies.
      • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
      • Ability to influence outcomes across a large, distributed sales organization without direct authority.
      • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution and consistent follow-through.
      • Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet customers, partners, contractors, internal teams, and industry stakeholders.
      • Experience with wire and cable, automation solutions, power distribution products, or related offerings within a distribution-based business model is preferred.
      • Familiarity with CRM platforms, including Salesforce, is preferred.
      • Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities in mission-critical environments is a plus.
      • Existing knowledge of the Texas data center market, particularly Houston, Dallas, or Austin, is preferred.
