Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for accurately delivering prescribed courses of radiation therapy to cancer patients, ensuring clinical precision and patient comfort.Every day you will meticulously position patients, operate sophisticated radiation equipment, perform daily quality assurance checks, and carefully monitor patients throughout treatment, providing support and clear communication.To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, crucial for safe and effective cancer treatment.

  • As directed by the physician, determines positioning of the patients to ensure set-up accessibility, practicality, and reproducibility.
  • Ensures set-up instructions, treatment parameters, and proper documentation for procedures performed are documented in the patient's chart.
  • Ensures that relevant information is on the physician's order sheet and/or treatment prescription and that all necessary documentation is available and correct before commencing with a procedure.
  • Fabricates individualized immobilization devices ensuring patient comfort and structural integrity of each device. Also aides in fabrication of other custom devices as directed by the physician, physicist or dosimetrist.
  • For CT simulator -scans patients at the appropriate levels, transfers and reconstructs images as required, transfers and coordinates to laser system, and marks isocenters.
  • Informs and instructs patients regarding equipment and procedures to provide assurance and alleviate patient anxiety. Schedules patient simulations and treatments. Handles any patient schedule conflicts or changes that need to be made.

We are offering a sign on bonus up to $15,000 depending on eligibility requirements. 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology, upon hire and
  • Has Radiation Therapy Technology Certification, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Bone Densitometry, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Cardio Interventional Radiography, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Mammography, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Quality Management, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Vascualr Inteventional Rad, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography, upon hire and
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

  • 1-3 years One to three years experience in radiation therapy dosimetry , upon hire and
  • 1-3 years One year of directly related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, upon hire
