In this role, you will take both a strategic and hands-on approach to designing, building, and scaling our infrastructure. You will play a key role in optimizing performance, enabling secure access for both internal teams and customers, and continuously improving our systems in a cutting-edge AI infrastructure company.Design, build, and maintain scalable, production-grade infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environmentSet up and manage Kubernetes clustersBuild and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform Ensure high availability, performance, and observability across all systemsImplement secure access solutions for internal teams and customer environments (including on-prem deployments)Apply security best practices to protect infrastructure, pipelines, and intellectual propertyCollaborate closely with engineering and product teams to continuously improve systems and processesDrive improvements, introduce new technologies, and contribute to the DevOps roadmapYour profileStrong hands-on experience designing and operating Kubernetes clusters (cloud and/or on-premise)Solid background working with at least one major cloud provider (preferably AWS; Azure/GCP also welcome)Deep understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentalsProven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production environmentsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively with minimal onboardingComfortable working across multiple parallel projects and adapting to new challengesBased in Germany, able to visit our Heidelberg office on a quarterly basis Nice to haveExperience with DevSecOps or MLOps practicesExposure to AI/ML infrastructure, data pipelines, or frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorchExperience with OpenStack or multi-cloud environmentsWhy us?Build something big: Help build and scale a fast-growing AI infrastructure startupPay & perks: Competitive compensation with a performance-based incentive, subsidized Deutschlandticket, and access to a discount portalWork your way: Flexible hours with hybrid and remote-friendly optionsFast lanes, no red tape: Flat hierarchies and rapid decision-making mean ideas ship quicklyGlobal team: Work with a diverse, international team across Germany and the USAModern headquarters: Well-stocked office near the Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, available on a hybrid basis or as a place to connect during our quarterly team workshopsTop setup: Your choice of high-quality hardware and equipmentAbout usTurbalance GmbH is an innovative, emerging startup that transforms AI laws.
