Roles and Responsibilities
- The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Technical must possess the necessary knowledge to perform interventions on the various I&C equipment of a thermal power plant. Power generation and support equipment includes gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines, generators, triple-pressure heat recovery steam generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, piping (air, water, steam), and valves.
- Execute I&C-related maintenance activities according to the work plan provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Responsible for contributing to the reduction of maintenance costs through the efficient use of consumables, parts, and tools, and for preventing their loss or damage.
- Diagnose the cause of instrument failures or malfunctions. Must be able to communicate findings to all stakeholders.
- Diagnose, test, repair, or replace defective instrumentation components.
- Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of the operation of mechanical units and systems to diagnose the cause of failure.
- Calibrate and adjust equipment according to specifications.
- Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests performed.
- Record maintenance actions on work orders.
- Repair actuators as needed for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
- Identify the necessary spare parts for the various plant systems.
- Submit purchase requisitions in the MAXIMO system.
- Read and understand system technical manuals and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to the procedures in the technical manual.
- Prepare legible and understandable work orders for required preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Read, understand, and comply with all plant safety procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate with external contractors on various investment projects. Maintain effective communication with employees at all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Recognized technical qualification in the I&C maintenance field
- Knowledge of electrical practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a CCPP
- Good knowledge of typical I&C tools and calibration equipment
- Knowledge of different maintenance types used in the industry
- Three years’ experience as I&C in industrial environment, preferably in a CCPP environment.
- Able to work unsupervised on I&C tasks at the Power Station as needed
