What You Can Expect
This role sits at the intersection of data operations and applied machine learning, focusing on the curation, quality, and lifecycle management of field data used in production ML models. The role emphasizes data curation, governance, workflow automation, and model sustainment. In addition, the candidate may contribute to feature engineering, model monitoring, and retraining workflows. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Data Scientists and ML engineers, Software Engineers, QA teams, and clinical collaborators in a regulated medical device environment. The ideal candidate is rigorous, innovative, hands-on, and comfortable working in a technical research environment where responsibilities may evolve over time.
How You'll Create Impact
- Curate and process field data and analytics files to sustain and improve ML models.
- Maintain data infrastructure including governance, lineage, versioning, and quality control.
- Build and automate tools, scripts, and pipelines for data curation workflows (annotation, tagging, dataset preparation).
- Maintain and improve internal applications supporting annotation and training data pipelines.
- Ensure clean, traceable, and compliant datasets feeding production systems.
- Process and analyze field analytics data to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance, data privacy, access control and secure data management practices.
- Contribute to AI research initiatives and propose innovative solutions leveraging modern AI technologies.
- Support R&D and Product teams with AI-ready curated datasets.
- Participate in research, testing and validation activities.
- Contribute to FDA-compliant documentation, SOPs, validations activities and data procedures.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data science, or related field with a focus on medical image processing.
- Strong Python development experience and familiarity with C++.
- Working experience with large scale medical imaging: fluoroscopic, x-ray, CT and MRI imaging modalities.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated data workflows and pipelines.
- Familiarity with image processing, computer vision, machine learning and AI-related techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality control and dataset versioning best practices.
- Experience with Git, Docker, Linux/Bash environments, and software engineering workflows.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English.
Your Background
- Experience with AWS services and cloud migration project.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure AI cloud based platform.
- Experience designing scalable cloud-native data platforms for continuous medical data ingestion.
- Experience with HIPAA-compliant medical data handling.
- Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D annotation and visualization tools platforms (e.g. FiftyOne, CVAT, MONAI…)
- Experience with active learning, auto-annotations, AI-assisted data workflow
- Experience working in regulated Medtech or FDA environments.
- Innovative mindset with interest in emerging AI technologies and workflow automation.
- Hands-on experience in developing 2D and 3D machine learning models for data analysis
